Principal's Welcome
A successful school is one where students are respected, they love coming to school and they have a voice. We see it as our responsibility to discover and develop the talents of our students, to broaden their interests and to enhance their interpersonal qualities. To do this we develop confidence, perseverance, tolerance and integrity. We enhance communication skills, embrace creativity, encourage teamwork and promote open-minded thinking so that our students are ready to make a positive contribution within the school and to their wider community.
A strong focus on positive, respectful and supportive relationships between all members of our school community is a high priority and at the core of everything we do. A sense of belonging is the basis for a safe, purposeful and inclusive learning environment. Our school reflects the vibrant, ever-changing nature of education, giving opportunities for self-expression and equipping each student with the desire to be a lifelong learner. Our teachers are dedicated, talented and diligent team members who provide an outstanding teaching and learning program which incorporates the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
We live in exciting and fast-changing times and this means that providing an outstanding, progressive and well-rounded education is more important than ever. Our teaching and learning program is designed around personalisation and inquiry learning. It is our intention to stimulate and challenge our students to enable them to reach their full potential as individuals, members of our community and as citizens of the world. We have an inclusive environment where students are challenged and supported as they strive to achieve academic and personal excellence.
We view the opportunity to educate children as a privilege, which brings with it a huge responsibility to provide the best education possible as we aim to prepare young people for happiness and success in their adult lives. At Aspendale Gardens we take this responsibility very seriously. We care about the individual and pride ourselves in the warmth of a community in which all our students feel valued.
A major strength of our school is the positive, supportive and happy school culture, the basis for successful student learning. Aspendale Gardens is a brilliant place to come to each day and our aim every day is for all students to go home and say "I had a fantastic day at school today!"
We look forward to the beginning of a long and happy association with all families who join us.
