Thank you for considering Aspendale Gardens Primary School as your choice for your child.

The Department of Education and Training (DET) has a new state-wide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

 

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Aspendale Gardens Primary School.

The timeline applies for all children starting Foundation (Prep) in 2025.

You can find information and resources about the new timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). You can also download the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers for the 2025 school year from the Starting School webpage (available from Monday 15th April 2024). 

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Aspendale Gardens Primary School from Monday 15th April 2024.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school office on (03) 9587 0877 to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.

  Tuesday 12th March @ 9:15am

Our Term 2 School Tours will run on:

  Tuesday 16th April @ 9:15am

  Tuesday 30th April @ 9.15am

  Tuesday 14th May @ 9.15am

 

  1. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack 'Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) from https://www.vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep (available from Monday 15th April 2024)

  2. Submit an Application for Enrolment Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26th July 2024.

  3. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 9th August 2024. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 23rd August 2024

  4. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024

  5. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 30th January 2025.

SECONDARY SCHOOL ENROLMENTS (Year 6 to Year 7 Process)

The Department of Education and Training (DET) has released a statewide Year 6 to Year 7 timeline and processes for enrolment at a secondary school. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Year 7 at a Victorian government secondary school.

Key Dates

  • ​Term 1 Secondary Schools will be offering information sessions, open nights and school     tours.

  • Term 2 Week 1 placement information packs will be distributed by Aspendale Gardens PS   to our current Year 6 parents.

  • Friday 12th May – Parents / carers to return the application for Year 7 placement form to Aspendale Gardens PS before this date.

  • Wednesday 19th July – Primary schools notify parents / carers of Year 6 students, in writing, of their child’s Year 7 placement offer for 2024 school year.

  • Friday 28th July – Closing date for parents / carers to lodge a written non-placement appeal with their preferred secondary school (if necessary).

  • Tuesday 12th December – Statewide Orientation Day for Year 6 students attending Government secondary schools.

 

We encourage our parents / carers to visit the secondary schools for tours and open day events in Term 1. This will allow parents / carers to look at the options and make an informed decision before Friday 12th May deadline.
